There aren't many white spaces in my house except for my room, which I kid you not has about 2 foot room on one side of the bed which today formed a tiny little studio, so forgive me for the fact I don't have a head-to-toe image. Anyway I digress, this is my outfit today, quite casual but it is sunday.

Modern Minimalism in Mens Fashion

ACNE Spring/Summer 2013

Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2013

Calvin Klein Spring/Summer 2013
Costume National Homme Spring/Summer 2013

Issey Miyake Spring/Summer 2013

Phillip Lim Spring/Summer 2013
Minimalism in Mens Fashion challenges the ideals of mainstream style and that's what's so interesting about it,  the irony of it is that with so many designers adopting the style its destined to work its way down to high street outlets and have a major influence on the future of men's fashion. The likelihood for spring/summer 2013 is that a lot of retailers stock considerably more white alongside black and hopefully a more diverse range of fabrics which is needed to achieve this aesthetic.

TRENDS // Monochromatic Matte & Sheen

Jil Sander Autumn Winter 2012
Jil Sander Autumn Winter 2012
T By Alexander Wang Fall 2012
Louis Vuitton Footwear Autumn Winter 2012
A lot of designers take A/W as their opportunity to use a monochromatic colour scheme, this pattern can make things feel a little repetitive, so it's interesting to see how different designers make it feel new and also make it their own. This is usually done using some combination of textures and this season is no exception, I've noticed a lot of designers using Matte and Sheen (whether sheen be a treated fabric, leather or some form of plastic) to create the feeling of variety that's needed in a monochromatic collection and I think I kinda like it and it really reminds me of a recent purchase I made (more on that later).

i-D Magazine: Role Models

i-D is, as of yet, my favourite fashion magazine. I just love everything about it and as such I make a point to buy it whenever it comes out. In the most recent issue there is an amazing photoshoot with some of the most powerful women in modelling along side their interviews. There's something for everyone, for the fashion-inclined there's some beautiful dresses and lingerie and for the less fashion inclined just loads of beautiful women and even some candid nudity! It's definitely worth a look so I've put together a video of it.

I'm not gonna lie though, this video was a completely self-indulgent way to test out the video mode on my camera.

Inspiration: 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2013 (Minimalism)

Phillip lim and his minimalist aesthetic is something that has really appealed to me for a really long time and I think its something I'm going to try to aim for next spring. I love the colour combinations, a lot of khaki but it doesn't look dumpy it looks crisp, especially when paired black and baby blue, it sounds so wrong but looks perfect together. I being English especially appreciate the fact that their is still a black outfit or two in there.

GQ Germany: Minimal Maximal Editorial

Like a lot of people in the United Kingdom, I tend to forget about Germany as part of the fashion world but recently I came across an editorial in GQ Germany which really surprised me.

English GQ isn't exactly high fashion, but that probably says more about the English Men's Fashion scene than the publication itself.

This editorial from GQ Germany certainly doesn't fit that image. It's sleak and interesting and as it's title suggests achieved maximum impact with minimal effort. I think I'm definitely going to be looking into ordering GQ Germany to England.

BLACK SENSE MARKET 2012 FALL/WINTER

Japanese Fashion Magazine SENSE has released its Fall/Winter 2012 capsule collection. A lot of brands that are especially popular in Japan (although they're good in every continent) are involved, including Roar, Wacko Maria and many others.

The colour pallet is for lack of a better word very black, a lot of punk influences such as leather and embellishment.

The collection is available now on the Sense website and as always international shipping IS available.

A gallery of the collection can be seen below:

Nike Air Force 1 Deconstruct

The Nike Air Force 1 has been released in its black colour way and i might have to consider getting myself a pair at some point.

For me the major concern when buying AF1s was how clumpy they make my feet look, which is a special concern for those of us with larger feet, these however eliminate that problem and provide you with a great pair of shoes.

Check out the slimline version below:

Cruel Summer Leaks

Cruel Summer has officially leaked and has met a mostly welcoming crowd. I've heard people say things like "Best colab G.O.O.D. music have produced so far" right next to "Worst opening song in I've ever heard" so the reception has been mixed but I'd say overall good though. I was always gonna like it and I do. I won't bother providing a link to them because they seem to be everywhere.
