Musicians: Jack Peñate

I wouldn't say he was obscure but I would say that most would not know this XL recordings signed musician my name although I'm sure that won't be true for much longer, included in the ASOS summer's essential 50, his newest track No One Lied seems to be a whole new direction for Peñate, it has a sound more similar to the XX whilst his previous 2 albums feel a little more brit-pop. He shot the music video on one continuous film in his london apartment and can be seen above.

H&M confirms rumours that their next collaboration will be with Mason Martin Margiela

Both H&M and Maison Martin Margiela have done great things in the past few years, H&M has updated it's whole brand, it is no longer (only) known as 'the place to buy the basics' they have produced quite a few higher-end lines whilst keeping their price-point low, as well as doing some amazing collaborations with some huge fashion houses that need not be named. Which brings me to M.M.M. the brand is one of the quickest growing at the minute, in the context of the fashion world the brand has grew at a ridiculous rate and is now joining aforementioned fashion power houses with the accolade of a H&M collection, the teaser video can be seen below.

Burberry Prorsum 2013 Resort Collection

Burberry quickly became one of my favourite brands since the appointment of Christopher Bailey as lead designer, the way he has turned around the brand is something that never fails to put me in awe, he took a business that was slowly in decline due to its reputation of being the archetypal look of (for lack of a better word) thugs.

Since then it has adopted a whole new design aesthetic, the 'Burberry check' is seldom seen nowadays and instead we see a more refined look. A look that I love more than any other right now. That aesthetic is paramount in the Prorsum range which is probably my favourite  and the new collection can be seen below:

Topman Fall/Winter 2012 Lookbook

Every single season since its launch, I watch the Topman Design show and am usually in awe of what I see but at the same time bitter because the prices are a little too steep for my budget. Which is why I am very happy to say that Topman have incorporated the design aesthetic of the Topman Design range into  their main range this winter, which can be seen below...

Lyle & Scott Autumn/Winter 2012

I recently had the pleasure of receiving an E-Mail from Lyle & Scott's content co-ordinator, Laura Blake. Laura had come across my blog and wanted to know what I thought of their new direction with their newly appointed head of design, Carolyn Massey.

Where have I been?

It's been a while since I've posted on here and the simple truth is I couldn't quite handle the workload. I've had a few exams (few being the operative word) but more than that I've had numerous deadlines to attend to, all of which are now dealt with. I did also have some commitments as a contributor to another blog, but it seems that has come to an end.

What this means is that I can now start posting again, with this academic year coming to an end I feel I have the energy to start this blog back up, Im considering a few design changes which you'll see in the next few days if they go ahead (a more minimal aesthetic I think) and hopefully some posts during all of that. So there's something for you all to look forward too.
